Acrylic Pour Paintings
Seniors in my Visual Arts class created the paintings below using an acrylic pouring method. I LOVE the results and my students had a lot of fun designing them! These paintings were completed using canvas panels, Elmer's glue, water, craft acrylic paint and many plastic cups! If you would like to try this method, there are ENDLESS amount of ideas and resources online - especially on YouTube and art educator websites!

I introduced my class to artists from history with a similar aesthetic, like Jackson Pollock, Franz Kline and Joan Mitchell. Seniors will be able to view art from these artists on their Senior Trip in May when they tour the Art Institute of Chicago (shown above).
Seniors are also getting into the routine of adding projects to their digital portfolio, which will be used as a way to catalog their work through the semester. Digital portfolios can seen HERE.
