This week in 1st hour we worked on a grid enlargement of two famous paintings, Starry Night and Sunflowers by Vincent Van Gogh. Each student had their own section of the paintings they had to recreate in their own style. After finishing the Grid Enlargements, we finished up our presenations on Letter Photography. We also made inchies!! Inchies are 2 x 2 inch wooden squares that we put our name on and decorated how we wanted to. Miss Westphal is taking our inchies to cover the top of a table, our art is just that fantastic! :D
This week in first hour we had to take pictures for our group scavenger hunt. We had to take a senior style picture of everyone in our group, a group picture, and use members of our group to spell out jets, and a jumpshot. We also had a powerpoint we had to complete. The powerpoint was on a famous photographer, and some of his/her pictures. It also contained our pictures of objects spelling out an eight letter word.
The other project we did was a grid enlargement of Vincent Van Gogh's artwork (Starry Night and Sunflowers). We took a normal picture and cut it into many smaller photos. We had to draw what the photo looked like but we had to make it on a bigger piece of paper and at the end we will put it together and make one huge photo.
In the beginning of the week our 2nd hour class did a photo scavenger hunt. The first task was take a ''senior'' style portrait of each member in the group. We also had to take a jump shot of members of the group. Then we had to find something we found beautiful and take a snapshot revealing the details. After that we had to take a creative group photo of every member in the frame then lastly we needed to take each member to spell out JETS! (Like the picture shown above)
Mid-week we started our projects for photography. The first assignment is letter photography and the second project is a mini photography portfolio. We need to combine all the photos into a powerpoint to present to the class on Tuesday of next week.
