This week in 1st hour we worked on a grid enlargement of two famous paintings, Starry Night and Sunflowers by Vincent Van Gogh. Each student had their own section of the paintings they had to recreate in their own style. After finishing the Grid Enlargements, we finished up our presenations on Letter Photography. We also made inchies!! Inchies are 2 x 2 inch wooden squares that we put our name on and decorated how we wanted to. Miss Westphal is taking our inchies to cover the top of a table, our art is just that fantastic! :D
This week we finally put together our whole Grid Inlargement of American Gothic (the origanal artist is Grant wood.) Also this week we started to do our Cut-Out Posters project, we did this by looking up a famous peice of artwork and redrawing it on a big sheet of paper. Then we had to cut out the face of the peice of artwork so someone can place your head through the hole. To end our week we had to do an Inchies assignment which are, designing a little peice of wood how ever you would like but it has to have your name on it.
This week we worked on multiple view drawings half of the week and an independent project the rest of the week. Multiple view drawing are small pictures of multiple views on an object. Our independent project all we had to do was pick an artist and create either a drawing of their work or a drawing that resembles their work. Also this week was Halloween so that was an interesting day.
