Here is a little update on what my elementary classes are busy with in the ART ROOM. 5th GradeMr. LaBonte's class finished up their Circle Weaving project from the COLOR THEORY unit. The background of the weavings was created using an analogous color scheme done with tempera paint. Oil pastel designs were added for more detail once the paint was dry. Click on the images below to enlarge. 4th GradeMrs. Martin's class completed a Monochromatic Leaves project in our COLOR THEORY unit. More details on that project can be seen here.

2nd GradeMrs. Dubord's 2nd grade class completed Paper-Weavings with complementary colors as the main colors. More can be seen on that project here. For ART HISTORY, 2nd graders create a project inspired by the POP art of Andy Warhol. Students will create Pop Art Cupcakes in the 4-section style seen below. 1st GradeMrs. Ekberg's COLOR THEORY project was Silly Pumpkins, completed with secondary colors! These pumpkins were a great practice for mixing colors using primary colors. More on the pumpkins HERE. Kindergarten
