Today was my last meeting with Mrs. Martin's 4th grade class. Students were able to take home their Elements of Art project below, inspired by the element VALUE. This could be completed later at home with simple crayon as an art medium. Click on the images to enlarge.
In addition to the shading project, students also took home sketchbooks and their self-portrait! To finish off the day, students were able to relax and create a zentangle project. Click on the images below to see some photos from their work time today.
The end of the school year is coming fast!
The image above gives a brief summary
of the projects each grade is finishing up
inspired by the Elements of Art.
Kindergarten - LINE
1st Grade - COLOR
2nd Grade - SHAPE & FORM
3rd Grade - SPACE
4th Grade - VALUE
5th Grade - TEXTURE
After completing the SECOND to last class
meetings for each grade, it was time to
average their DAILY POINTS scores to see who
would be crowned our 4th quarter winner!
So far this year, Mrs. Veeser's 3rd Grade
class has won EVERY OTHER quarter!
Average scores are as follows
(as seen on the photo of our agenda below)
Kindergarten - 90.8
4th Grade - 94
1st Grade & 3rd Grade E - 94.2
5th Grade - 94.5
2nd Grade & 3rd Grade V - 97
So... Mrs. Dubord's 2nd Grade & Mrs. Veeser's
3rd Grade tied with an average score of 97
through the quarter, which is EXCELLENT!
These classes will be rewarded during
their last class meeting of the year!
Congrats to everyone for a great year!
5th Grade students recently completed the annual task of designing covers for the Elementary School Handbook. Designs will be voted on and the top choices will be used next year when printing the handbook! Scroll through the images below.
Mrs. Hongisto's class had their SECOND to last art class of the school year today! Like all classes in the elementary, they are completing a project inspired by an element of art. The element assigned to kindergarten is LINE! We reviewed types of lines we've learned through the year and started to create our LINE Lion! Today we painted different lines using WARM colors to create the lion's mane! For our next art class, students will make the face of the lion and attach it to their painted background! You can review some of their progress in the photos to follow.
