Classroom Set-Up Round 6

8/20/2017

Last week, I spent many hours cleaning, organizing and preparing my 7th-12th grade classroom for the upcoming school year. Next week, I will start on my elementary room! I dropped off a handful of supplies, and took a few photos to act as before shots - updates to come soon!
Picture
PRE-ORGANIZATION
Picture
I plan to use a color coding system this year to organize table supplies! I'm very thankful for so many amazing fellow art teachers who use Instagram and other social media outlets for inspiration and amazing ideas to make the best of my work space!
Picture
I took over an hour to sort ALL of my construction paper... a work in progress.
Picture
Decided to color code this year!
Picture
Thanks to the other teachers for donating their paint to my collection!
Picture
This is what going through all of your classroom supplies looks like.
Picture
I cannot wait to hang this up to make supply caddies.
Picture
Old supply bins make great drawer organizers!
Picture
I moved my watercolor paints and brushes closer to the sink this year for easy clean-up and prep. (I hope!)
Picture
I started to sort oil pastels for the upcoming year!
Picture
I'm trying silverware storage bins to help keep colors separated - fingers crossed!
Picture
Markers, crayons, and other art supplies are sorted!
Picture
BEFORE I started working on the back wall...
Picture
AFTER... what's missing?
Picture
This area will be turned into my "I'm DONE!" space.
Picture
This cabinet was great for storage... but SO dark and SO large.
Picture
New color coded supply center!
Picture
SO much better than that dark cabinet.
Picture
The cabinet I've avoided for years... BEFORE.
Picture
Even though I thought I finished this... I'm going to change it again because a colleague gave me a GREAT idea!
Picture
I will finally decide the finished state of this area soon.... maybe!
Picture
The area that I know I want to redo, but I'm not sure how yet...
Picture
AFTER... for now. I want labels :)
Picture
The top is all of my crayons sorted by individual color! The lower shelves are for current projects by grade.
Picture
I found the top of my desk!
Picture
I can't wait to display all of this!
Picture
SO MUCH IMPROVEMENT SO FAR :)
Picture
Picture
Picture
One of my favorite steps is wall decoration and bulletin boards.
I used labels from @thecreativeclassroom and amazing astrobrights paper,
along with good ol' Target finds this year! Not near done... but progress was made!
Picture
Picture
Remember that awkward area from before? It is right by my door when you come in...
Picture
I filled the hallways with past projects and project examples to brighten it up a bit!
Picture
Picture
Picture
I decided to make a "fake" bulletin board - not perfect - but more more aesthetically pleasing.
Picture
Picture
Picture
The front board now has almost completed bulletin board sides, along with elements and principles posters and a little "Art of the Jets" banner.
Picture

Picture
Color coded wipes - YUP!
Picture
Picture
Picture
Attention-getter!
Picture
Picture
Picture
I'm so excited about these adorable "Chair-footies" - let's hope they reduce noise and keep my floor shining and clean! The best part is that I could color coordinate them :)
Shout out to "Art with Mr. E" for the fabulous idea!
Picture
I cannot wait to paint the back wall. If you see the strips of colored tape -
those are my indicators where each color will start/stop.
I plan to do a blended rainbow effect from left to right!

Picture
Picture
This year I want to call this hallway outside of my room the "Art of the Jets Gallery"
Picture
Picture
Shelves labeled by class - need to get one more orange label for our two 2nd grade classes
Picture
Picture
I want to take pictures of what the bins SHOULD look like to post
Picture
My "I'm Done!" area is slowly coming together
Picture
Paint shirt central - signs need to be hung up
Picture
Popsicle sticks by class, and also by table to use for choosing kiddos at random
Picture
I had to test out the lanterns!
Picture
Closer and closer...
