6th Grade Coil Pots are starting to transform with tempera PAINT! Check out what they used to look like before being fired HERE.
Next week, students have one more day to finish up their project. Check back for final pictures soon!
Due to not having a kiln to fire clay projects at the elementary, clay is a challenging medium to have for K-6 graders. I make one exception, and complete a simple coil pot project with 6th graders as finale project. This past week, their pots were constructed, and carted over to the high school. Today, they are firing away in the kiln! Tomorrow, they will be painted! I am very pleased with the results with our short amount of time!
The kiln fire was successful! A few pots had small pieces come off, but those can be fixed with glue :) Overall, a smooth firing process. Today I will cart them over to the elementary school so our 6th graders can paint them!
