This week, we start fall/Halloween projects! I cannot wait, it is my favorite time of year!
2nd graders started to learn about the Color Wheel. They should be experts on complementary colors, warm/cool colors, and primary/secondary colors. After a quick review, we painted sunsets with the theme of warm vs. cool colors. So far so good! We'll finish them up next tme.
Young 4s is an energetic group of 16 students. They are the youngest students I have ever taught, and I am definitely still learning with this age. These pictures are some shots of the Mixed Media letters we are working on. The letters are a good chance for them to experiment with different media (markers, crayon, oil pastel and paint). Also, when we remove the masking tape that I layed out on each letter, a phrase or word combination will be revealed, just like the word "artist" is in the photos below. I can't wait to see the final result!
1st Grade Serapes. We even added glitter to some that were ready for it. They got to choose TWO lines to glitterize, because more than that is too much glitz and glam. I am very happy with the results!
Kindergarten artists are JUST about done with these lovely creations! More details to come after our watercolor painting adds the final touch next Monday! So proud of these little artists :)
