Shout out to our fabulous National Honor Society Historian for keeping our scrapbook up to date with pages to remember all of our events and accomplishments! You rock Ellie!
All of our NHS officers have specific tasks that are their responsibility. The main job for our Historian is to keep track of what we've done through the year, and document it via our NHS scrapbook. In addition, Ellie is also responsible for creating a Yearly Report summarizing what we've accomplished through out the year as well.
Our application process for the current school year is complete!
Applications were passed out, filled out, turned in, interviews were completed, discussion occurred, and votes have been tallied!
Thank you to all of this year's applicants for your time and efforts.
Congratulations to the following students who will be inducted into
North Central's Chapter of the National Honor Society on October 21st -
Early Admission Sophomores
The NHS Induction Banquet is a RSVP event held at the
St. John Neumann Parish Hall for all members and their families.
See the bulletin board in the cafeteria for an overview of the upcoming dates for our induction process. Application packets will be handed out on the first day of school for those students meeting the cumulative GPA requirements of the National Honor Society. Packets will be handed out during class meetings.
There is a meeting during the END of lunch (12:50pm) to answer any questions potential inductees may have about the application process.
Today, the awards ceremony for 7th-11th graders was held. I recognized my National Honor Society members by giving them a personalized folder containing the following:
Below, you can see the letter I gave to each current NHS member today.
Congratulations to the NOW graduated Class of 2018!
Miss Tucker and I (as Senior Advisors) experienced a crazy weekend in preparation for this commencement ceremony, but everything turned out a-okay in the end.
The unexpected hailstorm (with flooding to follow) and power outage kept us on our toes, but we know it will make for a funny story later.
Shout out to Ever After Decorating for transforming the gym for the big day!
Special shout out to the Junior Ushers pictured above who were an extreme help to Miss Tucker and I, not only on Graduation day, but on Senior Awards Night as well. Click on the images above to enlarge.
Wednesday, May 23rd was the date for the annual Senior Awards Night!
At this program, the Class of 2018 was recognized for all of their hardwork
in high school by accepting various awards and scholarships they've earned this year.
The three NHS Seniors (Hope, Hunter and Nicole) were given a recommendation letter from me with an overview of not only their personal service hours completed, but also a summary of what the entire Chapter has done this year. This letter and service hour spreadsheet could be used in future portfolios or interviews after high school.
Special shout out to
Ever After Decorating
for completely transforming our Gym into a formal atmosphere!
The Class of 2018 will graduate on Sunday, May 27th.
Commencement begins at 1pm CST.
Students volunteered at the following locations this year:
North Central Elementary

High School Gym (Graduation Prep!)
Hermansville Intersection (flower planting)
High School Kitchen/Cafeteria (Cook-out Prep!)

Shout out to all of the National Honor Society members for making today run smoothly. I could not have prepared everything without their efforts.
A special thank you to our Seniors - Hope, Hunter and Nicole for all of their hardwork during their time with our Chapter! You will be missed and we wish you the best of luck!
Throwback to the end of LAST YEAR when this was our entire CHAPTER prior to our induction in the Fall.
Click on the images below to enlarge - Our Seniors starting (and ending!) as Officers.
When our Seniors graduate at the end of the month, our Chapter will get a little smaller in size, but I have high hopes for the silly crew seen below! (it was just a little windy today...)
Today was our last meeting as a full Chapter for the 2017-2018 school year, as this is our last week for the Senior class. This means it is time to take our traditional photos showing who is taking over Officer positions (or keeping the same role!). Thank you to the graduating class of 2018 for their hardwork through their time as a part of National Honor Society! Each graduating member will be recognized at Senior Awards Night on Wednesday, May 23rd at 6pm in our Gym.
Check out this same post from LAST YEAR.
The future of NHS is pictured below! I have high hopes for this group!
An additional post about new officers can be seen HERE.
Congrats to the new officers!
Hunter passes the presidental torch to Ethan!
