North Central High School held the annual National Honor Society Induction on Sunday, October 21st at St. John Neumann Parish Hall in Spalding. New inductees included seniors Griffin Johnson & Tayler Poupore, juniors Leo Gorzinski & Jasmine Walters, and early admission sophomores Ava Eichhorn, Jaiden Fleetwood, Autumn Gundrum & Chloe Webber. In order to be selected as a member of the North Central Chapter of NHS, students need to portray the four pillars of NHS: Character, Scholarship, Leadership and Service. Juniors and seniors need to maintain a 3.3 GPA, while early admission sophomores require a 3.5 GPA. NHS members are also required to complete a minimum of 20 service hours per school year. Returning members have been working on planning this banquet since the school started. They all did a wonderful job! The ceremony included an elaboration of the four pillars of NHS by the officers, individual introduction of new members by the current chapter, signing of the registry, the NHS pledge, and a luncheon. Special thank you to the parents for their contributions to the luncheon! Photos from the ceremony can be viewed in the slideshow below. New inductees were surprised with a congratulatory gift bag, which included the chapter t-shirts pictured below. These shirts are worn to promote our chapter in the community and while volunteering or facilitating our annual events. The images below feature the current NHS member with the new inductee they introduced during our ceremony. Click to enlarge. All of my photos from the banquet can be found in this google folder. The Daily Press feature on our banquet can be viewed HERE. Thank you to all faculty council, school board members and families for attending our banquet. Up next for our chapter is planning our other annual events (hermansville hustle 5k, community project day, etc) and completing community service! Check back for updates! New chapter t-shirts were worn to school the Monday after the banquet! Thanks again to Moonlight Graphics for printing shirts for all of our annual events!
