October 23rd marked our first ever National Honor Society virtual induction via zoom. Thank you to all current members and new inductees for being patient and flexible to make this ceremony a success. The plan of the chapter is to hold our traditional induction ceremony when our restrictions allow us to do so. The zoom call took care of the essentials to get our new members inducted. During the virtual ceremony, current and new inductees were introduced, the four pillars of NHS were reviewed, and new inductees completed the NHS pledge. Inductees put on their stole to symbolize their admittance into the chapter, and they received their NHS pin as well. Congrats to our 7 new members! Early Admission Sophomores Katrina Borucki Luke Gorzinski Carley Naser Jesse Sampson Ashtyn Smith Juniors Dominic Naser Trenton Naser New members can now start attending meetings and earning service hours alongside the current chapter members. Preparation is well underway! All RSVPs are due this week, we have our luncheon menu planned, the ceremony script has been updated, and membership materials will be ordered this week as well! I can't wait to welcome our 8 new members into the chapter!
Check out the Induction article posted in the Daily Press here. Save the date - October 15th @ 12pm!17 National Honor Society applicants were informed via letter on Friday if they have been chosen to move forward in the process of becoming a new member. If they received a positive letter, they will have an interview either Tuesday or Wednesday of next week with the faculty council of 5 teachers and myself. By the end of next week, students will know if they will be joining NHS at our annual induction banquet in October. If students did not receive an interview this year, the faculty council encourages them to work hard through the 2017-2018 school year to gain experiences to help them stand out in the application process next year.
