North Central Area Schools held their annual National Honor Society Induction Banquet on Sunday, October 13th at St. John Neumann Parish Hall in Spalding. New inductees include seniors Brandon Grondine & Izaac Lauscher, juniors: Olivia Arnold, Cheyenne Borucki, Gracey Grondine & Wyatt Riley, and early admission sophomores: Bryson Mercier, Ariel Poupore, Dakota Schwark, Sarah Snyder and Katelyn Whitens. In order to be selected as a member of the North Central Chapter of NHS, students need to portray the four pillars of NHS: character, scholarship, leadership and service. Juniors and seniors need to maintain a 3.3 GPA, while early admission sophomores require a 3.5 GPA. All students who are eligible solely based on GPA are given an application letter. After applications are submitted, a faculty council of five teachers meets to vote on students for membership. Eleven students were inducted during this year’s ceremony. North Central High School held the annual National Honor Society Induction on Sunday, October 21st at St. John Neumann Parish Hall in Spalding. New inductees included seniors Griffin Johnson & Tayler Poupore, juniors Leo Gorzinski & Jasmine Walters, and early admission sophomores Ava Eichhorn, Jaiden Fleetwood, Autumn Gundrum & Chloe Webber. In order to be selected as a member of the North Central Chapter of NHS, students need to portray the four pillars of NHS: Character, Scholarship, Leadership and Service. Juniors and seniors need to maintain a 3.3 GPA, while early admission sophomores require a 3.5 GPA. NHS members are also required to complete a minimum of 20 service hours per school year. Returning members have been working on planning this banquet since the school started. They all did a wonderful job! The ceremony included an elaboration of the four pillars of NHS by the officers, individual introduction of new members by the current chapter, signing of the registry, the NHS pledge, and a luncheon. Special thank you to the parents for their contributions to the luncheon! Photos from the ceremony can be viewed in the slideshow below. New inductees were surprised with a congratulatory gift bag, which included the chapter t-shirts pictured below. These shirts are worn to promote our chapter in the community and while volunteering or facilitating our annual events. Students honored include, top from left, Juniors Marissa, Jadie, Amber, Eric, Brady, Ellie, Dalton, Chloe and Sophomore Bree. After the packets are turned in, a faculty council of five teachers meets to vote on students for membership and schedule interviews for candidates as well. Seventeen students applied for the honor, with 9 students chosen for membership this year. The images below show which current NHS officer (blue stoles) will serve as the mentor for new members (white stoles) and thus helped to induct them at the ceremony.
