Art 8 toured the Bonifas Art Center today for my annual field trip to view the Youth in Art exhibit. Students had a chance to tour the gallery, complete a scavenger hunt and enjoy a pizza lunch! Thank you to the staff at the Bonifas for always being so accommodating to our group! Check out the group in the Daily Press HERE.
Until next year...
Congrats to the following 8th grade students for winning the Communities that Care (of Marinette & Menominee Counties) Poster Contest -
Logan A., Katelyn S. and Allyson H.
Students created posters to answer the question of
"What do you love best about your community?"
The posters will be part of a 'traveling' display through various events in April. See the attached PDF for where the posters will be shown and for more general information. These three students won iTunes gift cards for their efforts!
Art 8 completed the collaborative project below. Students practiced watercolor techniques like "flat wash" and "dry brush" for example in different hexagon cut outs. The completed hexagons were then added to this bulletin board to create the overall piece as a small class. Up next, students will create their own version of this large scale bulletin board, but with small hexagons and oil pastel techniques.
Can you find the 2 hands hidden in each of the projects below? Each small group was assigned ONE element and ONE principle of art to incorporate into their design. Can you tell what they were going for?
