Art 7 and Art 8 classes worked together to create a collaborative piece to fill the display case for the summer and into this fall. The 8th grade class used zentangle techniques to fill the letters, while 7th grade students filled the background with warm colored designs.

I'm so excited to have Junior High students back! This trimester I have 27 Art 8 students during my 4th hour. Their first project was this mini Zentangle Name Design to get back into the swing of things. Zentangles are organized doodles, generally with Sharpie markers. They did a great job!
Up next, we reviewed the color wheel, and are now putting it to use creating a Warm/Cool Tree drawing.
Check back for more updates soon!
The following projects are completed by the lovely Art 8 class. Two concepts used here were review - Perspective and Zentange Design. Perspective was used to creative the checkerboard effect and Zentangle for the sharpie background. Shading the 3D forms (cylinder, cone, sphere and cube) was a new process for the class. The idea of a Mixed Media artwork is one using multiple mediums (oil pastel, sharpie, watercolor, etc.) in one project. I love the results!
