This week in 8th grade we made a color wheel, and learned about the color schemes. We designed shoes using what we learned on the color wheel. We have a test tomorrow on this (if we have school. )
We also learned how to do perspective, and we drew rooms using that. What was required for that was to have a window and a door, a detailed floor, 2 furniture pieces, 2 wall items, and you can only have one white wall.
And, also like every week, we were supposed to do our sketchbooks, and put 30 minutes in it.
Both the 7th and 8th grade classes just completed their first week in the art room. The first project for them was the Sharpie Hand Design. This project was a chance for me to assess their skill level, and get an idea of the overall capability of the entire class. The results turned out well!
Also this week, they started sketchbooks, and created portfolios (over-sized folded poster board pockets) to keep future work in through out the Trimester. I look forward to the upcoming art projects! Keep checking back for student written blogs... coming soon :)
Today was the first day for 7th and 8th graders in the Art room. They started their first project - Sharpie Hand Designs. This project is a chance for me to see their skill level, and for them to learn my style of teaching, and how the class operates.
Reminder to students -
DUE on Friday: 30 minutes in your sketchbook, completed portfolio (poster board folded in half), photo release/signature page, and of course your first project!
