October Updates!

         Our chapter made our first donation of the year with the profits of the NHS sponsored Powder Puff Volleyball Game during Homecoming week. Students were charged the admission price of $1 or 1 canned food item to attend the mini volleyball tournament. The profits were donated to 2 different places. $75 was donated to our local food pantry within the Senior Center in Hermansville, along with 2 boxes of canned food items. In addition, $75 was donated to a Hurricane Relief fund started by North Central's own Key Club. Key Club's total donation was sent to the American Red Cross to help victims of hurricanes in Puerto Rico, Florida and Texas.

Pictured below are some of our Chapter members sporting the t-shirts that new members were surprised with at the Induction Banquet. These shirts will not only be used to promote our Chapter, but they will also be worn while volunteering, and at our school events.

Up next, some of our NHS members are volunteering for the Halloween Carnival sponsored by NCAP (North Central Area Parents) in Hermansville. Members will  help set-up/decorate the event, run the carnival, and clean-up! This is one of the first chances to start earning service hours for this year since the Induction Banquet on the 15th.
