I wanted to update everyone with what the elementary students have been up to in Art class :)
6th grade - Zentangle hand designs. These drawings are completed with sharpie markers. The project is a good test of patience, craftsmanship and attention to detail.
3rd, 4th & 5th grade - Stained Glass Windows. These aren't actually windows, but the window name is given for the vibrant colors that will be used via oil pastels. In each pane of the window, students are asked to draw images that represent their interests/personality.
Kindergarten, 1st, & 2nd - Serapes! Students are focusing on simple line design, straight, wavy, zig-zag, broken, dotted, etc. They use these lines to draw Mexican blankets, known as Serapes. We will be adding watercolor paint, crayon and construction paper fringing to them over the next few weeks.
The young fours had their first art class today. We started with really basic lines, and are learning how to act in the art room.
I can't wait to post their final products!
